THE FOLLOWING PIECE WAS FOUND ON THE BRAZEN STATUE OF HIS
PRESENT M-----Y ON HORSE-BACK---A SWORD IN HIS HAND AND
SPURS ON HIS HEELS. 
'Tis he himself, who stiff as any steeple,
Bestrides his horse, as he bestrides his people.
O'er them he holds the sword, no spares the spur:
They foam---and bite the bit; but never stir.
